Family Pictures
Mark's brother Keith took some family pictures for us today. It was cold, windy and Jayden would not smile. But here are a few of my favorites.

1 year pictures!
Party Time!
We did a combined party for Mark and Jayden on October 2 in Green River. (Mark's birthday was September 29 and Jayden's was October 3). It was so fun and Jayden did pretty well with her cake after I stuck her hand in it (opening presents was rushed because she wasn't liking that too much!)
Opening presents:

The Cakes! (I decorated them myself and they didn't turn out too bad!)

A Year!!!
It happened..
Too fast...
Way too fast....
She's ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Our little J-Bug turned one on October 3, 2010! Wow, time has flown by and I can't believe she's already one. She has changed and developed soooo much over the past year. I know, I know, my major is child development, you would think I would have been prepared for it, but....she has amazed me with all she has learned.
Stats:
Weight: 19 lbs. 7 oz.
Height: 30 1/8 in.
Head: 45.3 cm.
Jayden is average for in weight and head circumference, but long (we're still trying to figure that one out). She has been refusing baby food since she was 10 months, and pretty much eats whatever we eat. She is in this gagging stage right now and gags on almost all of her food and her fingers though, and I'm not sure if she is just trying to get our attention or what (I promise we do pay attention to her)! The other day I decided to take away her bottle cold turkey and she has done pretty well. There have been a few times where I'm guessing she would take it if I offered it to her, but all in all she hasn't really seemed to miss is that much. She has never really needed it to go to sleep or anything, so attachment hasn't been an issue.
Jayden is really close to walking and is learning new things everyday. She got some really fun toys for her birthay and really enjoys them. One of them is a shape ball (where you have to put the shapes into the ball. I will show her where a shape goes and she works really hard to get it in, she even holds her tongue by her lips and has the funniest look of concentration.
She still sleeps through the night just great (always has) and somedays takes good naps. Although I dread Sundays because she is a crib baby and she does not sleep anywhere else.
We love our J-bug!!!

New Things
Jayden has experienced a few new things in the past few weeks...
first, Grandma and Papa Lake came to visit on their way to a family reunion and took us to water world in Denver, CO. It was a blast!! Jayden really LOVES the water no matter what the temperature is.
Jayden and I came to visit Grandma and Papa while dad was in Houston, Texas for a pharmacy boot camp. Jayden now loves to play the piano, chill out with Auntie Jonna in her favorite chair and she can now climb up the stairs. We are working on getting of video of the stairs...while visiting Grandma took Jayden to the splash park and she sat and played in the COLD water and loved it!!
Thanks Grandma and Papa and Auntie K and J for all of the fun!!!
Playing with Grandma and Papa in Laramie. They bought Jayden a new doll at the store that she absolutely loves and always has to have it when going to sleep.

Playing with the remote, I was having a good time

At water world, while getting Jayden ready to go play

Playing with the walrus at the park

Sitting in the water with mom, splashing away

Grandma wore me out

With Auntie K and J before we all left

Playing Grandma Ronna's piano

Sitting in Auntie Jonna's favorite chair with her, we had a blast

Update....
Wow, it has been a long time since I have posted!!! We don't have internet at our house, so I usually don't worry about it because it can be a hassle to go to the University and do it, but I have time now to post, so I will be sharing a lot of pictures!!
Jayden has been changing and growing so much!! She is 9 months old now and is continuing to learn many new things. We just went to her 9 month well baby check up this week. She weighs 17 1/2 lbs. (25th percentile), is 27 1/2 in. tall (50th percentile), and is in the 75th percentile for head circumference (she has a big head, compared to the rest of her body!!) She is so fun! She is not crawling yet, but she can get to where she wants to go by rolling and turning and lunging herself. She kind of does bellyflops across the floor if she is determined enough to get something. She jabbers non-stop at home and even at church when everyone is quiet. She reached the stranger anxiety stage and is really unsure of others until she warms up to them. She eats many different foods now. Including her rice cereal and baby food, she loves yogurt, bread, fruit, cookies, popsicles, cake, and most everything else we give her. Daddy gives her more of the sweets when mommy isn't looking.....
Mark finished his second year of Pharmacy school in May and has since been working at Albertson's Osco Pharmacy and UW computer labs here in Laramie. I finished working for the school district the first of June and have the summer off!! It has been wonderful. I do have to go back in the fall, but that's life and I only work 5 hours a day, so all in all, it's not too bad.
In March we spent a few days in GR for spring break. We helped Mark's mom because she hurt her back really bad and we helped celebrate Mark's grandfather's 80th birthday with a special dinner.
In May we went to GR for the Keith L. Young Memorial Run and actually ran/walked in the snow! It was cold, but fun. That same weekend we also went with Mark's younger brother Isaac as he went through the temple for the first time. He is currently serving a mission in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. We love him and know he is working hard!
Over Memorial Day, our good friends, the Homer's came to visit from Montana. They have such a cute family. We met Scott and Alicia our first year in Laramie, and then they moved back to Montana. They have a 2 year old, Emily and an 8 month old, Tyson. We had so much fun together!
In June, my brother Morgan and his wife Valarie blessed their baby Alexa. She is 4 months younger than Jayden and they are so cute together (pics to come). They like to grab each other's faces and Jayden is a little faster at grabbing toys, so she grabs all of the toys in front of Alexa.
Also in June, we went to Salt Lake for Mark's cousin, Kelsey's wedding. Kelsey married one of Mark's good friends from high school, Eli Harris. That was a fun trip. We enjoyed seeing all of the family there! After the wedding, Mark came back to Laramie and worked for a week, while I stayed in GR with my family. My younger sister's K'Lee and Jonna were involved in two musicals at Western Wyoming Community College. K'Lee was in Thoroughly Modern Millie Jr. and Jonna was in Annie Jr. They performed the week I was there, and they both did great. Mark came back to get me and we spent the 4th of July with my family. We watched fireworks from my parents driveway through the trees and ate yummy snacks and caramel corn!! It was fun!

Jayden in her Easter dress on Easter Sunday

We were getting ready one day and left Jayden on the floor, when we came to check on her she has scooted herself backwards and wound up halfway under the armchair!

She didn't quite know what to do when we put my sunglasses on her.

Playing in the exerciser

Happy Baby!

Jayden doing aerobics! She was way into pushing herself up for awhile.

This is how we found Jayden sleeping one night. She loves putting her feet up on things, especially when we are in the stroller or if she is sitting on my lap up to the table.

Jayden's first day in her highchair- she looks so small!

This is her first experience with a ritz cracker- it was funny!
